I release anything that is not for my higher good.

I release that which is not for my higher good.
Who the hell knows what your higher good is anyway.

I release that which is not for my higher good.
Ha, she is holding on tightly to tons of crap.

I release that which is not for my higher good.
Let her be. This is a process. She is doing perfectly.

I release that which is not for my higher good.
It's about time.

I release that which is not for my higher good.
Including thoughts and feelings and physical things.

I release that which is not for my higher good.
You go, girl!

I release that which is not for my higher good.
Including people!

I release EVERYTHING that is not for my higher good.
What is her higher good anyway? What does that mean

I release everything that is not for my higher good.
It means the best and brightest self and life she can be/have.

I release everything that is not for my higher good.
Does that mean no more chocolate?

I release everything that is not for my higher good.
I am NOT giving up those fudgy brownies.

I release everything that is not for my higher good.
Excess is not for her higher good. It's nothing to do with the actual brownie itself.

I release everything that is not for my higher good.
Let's bring this into today, this moment, right now. What are you letting go of today???

I release everything that is not for my higher good.
Today I am letting go of fearful thoughts, and ancient expectations about what marriage and husbands "should" be.

I release everything that is not for my higher good.
Bravo!

Random Affirmations

After reading Sanaya Roman's book, Living with Joy, I typed a list of all of the included affirmations that resonated with me. I chose a couple of hundred affirmations that reflect what I want to be creating in my heart and body and mind in 2012.

Then I printed them out on pretty paper, cut them into strips and folded them up into little squares and put them into a pretty metal bucket that I have decorated with stickers and powerful words. Part of my practice this year is going to be to draw one every day (or every other day) to work with in here and in my spiral journal as well.

The first one I just drew is "I do things that nurture me" and I just worked with that one.

I was having trouble deciding WHICH affirmation to work with on any given day, and that "choice anxiety" stopped me from doing this work at all, so I had this idea of drawing random affirmations and seeing what came up. This takes off the pressure of having to decide!

I do things that nurture me.

I do things that nurture me.
Do you really?

I do things that nurture me.
Not enough.

I do things that nurture me.
Only after you get a bad diagnosis like cancer.

I do things that nurture me.
This is something to keep working towards.

I do things that nurture me.
Nurturing things make me feel loved and special on the inside and outside.

I do things that nurture me.
I like to do things that nurture me.

I do things that nurture me.
Writing these affirmations is very nurturing!

I do things that nurture me.
You don't take care of yourself enough.

I do things that nurture me.
Nothing is EVER enough for you, is it?

I do things that nurture me.
Self-care is the most important thing for you right now.

I do things that nurture me.
You have to make this a priority, dear one.

I do things that nurture me.
Life goes more smoothly when you put yourself first.

I do things that nurture me.
Sitting for 12 hours and doing work on the laptop yesterday was not exactly nurturing.

I do things that nurture me.
This morning I meditated and sat with Minnie for 45 minutes.

I do things that nurture me.
I only ate a banana for breakfast because I just wasn't hungry and that was nurturing to my body.

I do things that nurture me.
I think this means nurturing in mind and emotions and spirit as well as body.

I do things that nurture me.
This is not a hard affirmation to believe.

I do things that nurture me.
You need to do more of this.

I do things that nurture me.
I can nurture myself better than my earth mother nurtured me.

Well, this was an interesting one! It didn't seem as difficult as some affirmations I have used, mainly because there's not much resistance inside of me towards this one.

It's fascinating to me to listen to the voices that arise when I say a positive statement like this into my soul. There are nay-sayers, yes, but also supportive voices showing up. I like that!
